MSE/MSD Motor Protecting Switch Units

 

Motor protecting switch units with 1, 2 or 3 switching steps are suitable for speed control of voltage-controlled 1-(MSE) or 3-(MSD) phase fans and offer optimal protection for motors with built-in thermal contacts or PTCs. The devices are available in various ratings and formats. Speed selection is done manually through the built-in step switch or through an external thermostat for automatic switch units. When using 3-speed motor switch units, their combination with the proper motor drive must be considered. Normally, motor protection is provided by thermal contacts. Motor protecting switch units for PTC connection are marked with a K in the type designation.

RTE / RTD Transformer Controllers

 

Transformer controllers with up to 5 switching steps are suited for speed control of voltage-controlled 1- (RTE) to 3- (RTD) phase fans and offer optimal protection to motors with built-in thermal contacts or PTCs. The devices are available in various ratings and formats. Speed selection is done manually through the built-in step switch or through an external thermostat for automatic control units. Normally, motor protection is provided by thermal contacts (RTD). Control units for PTC connection (RKD) are marked with a K in the type designation. Further options are: room thermostat connection, frost protection, flap positioning motor, solenoid gas valve, external speed selection.

Electronic control units for stepless speed control of voltage-controlled 1- or 3-phase fans. The devices are available in various ratings and formats. Rosenberg offers electronic control units with manual speed selection as well as devices for simple control applications (temperature-pressure control).

The Rosenberg MSD....TR or RTE/D...TR compact controller line were developed for space or air supply temperature control in ventilation installations and also offer optimal motor protection for motors with built-in thermal contacts or PTCs. The devices are available in various ratings and formats. Speed selection is done manually through the built-in step switch. Normally, motor protection is provided by thermal contacts. If motor protection is provided by PTC, this is shown by a K in the type designation.
Each device is provided with a modular controller with 7-segment display, on which all data relevant to operation can be seen and plant parameters can be adjusted.

Airtronic Controllers
 

The Rosenberg Airtronic D system controller series are designed for regulating complex ventilation and air conditioning installations. The system controller series consist of an operating component and a system controller which is usually installed in the switch cabinet. The operating component has a four-line LCD display with 20 characters per line. Plant parameters are displayed in clear text. Thanks to the installation options of the operating component, either a front installation in the switch cabinet or a partitioned wall installation is possible. The many-faceted operating range of the Airtronic D system controller line allows its use in all current ventilation and air conditioning applications. The Airtronic D system controller line can also be integrated into current building management systems, which offers definite works monitoring advantages.

Motor Protection
 

In motor speed control, complete motor protection is only possible through direct monitoring of winding temperature. Thermal contacts or PTCs with external connections are therefore fitted to Rosenberg motors as standard equipment. These temperature monitors must be so connected, that in the event of a fault the machine is not automatically turned back on once it has cooled. Rosenberg motor protection switch and transformer control units provide the required full motor protection. This motor protection function is integrated into all the newest Rosenberg switch, controller and regulator units for speed control.
Collective protection of several motors by a common motor protection switch or control unit is possible in some cases. With this wiring scheme, it should be noted that a temperature fault in one motor results in all connected motors being shut down together.
